Popular Nollywood actor Solomon Akiyesi has refuted reports that his wife disrupted an alleged wedding to his pregnant girlfriend in 2013. Speaking in an interview on The Premiers on Joy Prime, the movie director told Selly Galley that the alleged marriage was not real but rather a business contract. According to him, that business marriage was a way for him to make money because at some point in his life he was really broke. He recalled that things were so bad that, he had to beg for food just to survive. “I lost all of my wealth during my second marriage [and] it was so bad that I had to beg for bread so I couldn’t take it…it is better you don’t have money before than to have and lose it…,” he said. Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong has recounted his interactions with late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko before he died a week ago. The Assin Central lawmaker disclosed how unhappy he was when he saw the dead legislator resting in a couch when he visited him at home after he was discharged from the Ridge Hospital. Kennedy Agyapong says he advised the late Kyeremanteng Agyarko to seek medical attention outside the country. “I told him that master if it’s money, it’s not a problem. 76-yr-old man arrested for defiling granddaughter for 7 days

A 76-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly locked up his granddaughter for 7 days and sexually assaulted her. Mr. Gideon Attiase, is said to have invited his granddaughter into his house while she was on her way to see another relative and offered her a meal and a drink. After eating, she reportedly slept from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, and the grandfather would not let her go because it was too late for her to go home. Mr. Attiase got his granddaughter water to bath only at night and fed on her indoors. The victim told Citi News that her grandfather had sex with her through her 7-day detention and promised her a mobile phone. Suspected robbers ran over by car after snatching man’s bag

The suspects were hit by a sprinter bus when they attempted to flee on a motorbike after snatching a man’s bag from him. Two suspected robbers have been ran over by a car, leaving one dead and the other in critical condition. Accra-based Citi FM reports that the suspects were hit by a sprinter bus when they attempted to flee on a motorbike after snatching a man’s bag from him.The incident is reported to have happened at Sakaman junction, a suburb of Dansoman in Accra. One of the suspected thieves died on the spot, while the other has been taken to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment. “At first, we didn’t know that they were armed robbers or something like that… the car hit them and they fell on the road. One died on the spot, and the other one was wounded seriously lying in the middle of the road,” an eyewitness, Richard Abbey, is quoted as saying. Budding Ghanaian comedian, Comedian Waris, has come under the spotlight after his joke of a tweet went totally wrong. The comedian on Wednesday attempted to make a joke about Sarkodie’s daughter “Titi” but ended up making a comment many described as sexist. He posted a photo of Sarkodie and his daughter, saying Titi will soon be ripe for sex. Sarkodie’s daughter is becoming RIPE. Very soon, we people ill tear and eat ,” he wrote. However, this did not go down well with many Ghanaians in general, who labelled him a paedophile. The fury of social media users forced Comedian Waris to apologise after later realising he had committed a blunder. “To anyone offended by my tweet concerning sarkodie’s daughter kindly tamper [sic] justice with mercy. “Especially to @sarkodie @TracySarkcess @thenanaaba @Santokh72 @bridgetot “I’m apologetically sorry, it won’t happen again. "I take the blame": Amewu apologises to Ghanaians for two-week power cuts

Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu, has asked Ghanaians to pardon him and the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government for the intermittent power cuts that hit the country at least two weeks ago. Assuring the nation that the worse of the temporary power cuts are over, he apologised to Ghanaian businesses and homes who have been inconvenienced by the situation. “As government and as Energy Minister, I want to say very sorry to Ghanaians,” he said Wednesday on MultiTV’s current affairs programme, PM Express. Afrobeats singer, Mr. Eazi has rolled out a scheme to discover and empower 100 young artistes for the next 3 years. Dubbed #emPawa100, the Nigerian artiste known in real life as Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, said artistes in Africa will have the chance of submitting their works on Instagram with the aid of the hashtag. According to him, the scheme will run for three years after which it will be assessed and a decision will be taken as to whether to continue with it.
